Measure the wall dimensions.

First you need to measure the wall dimensions. The easiest way is to use a piece of string and a chalkline. (If you don’t have a chalkline, a yardstick or another long, straight edge will work.) Place the string at the top of the wall and use the chalk line to mark a line straight down to the floor. Once the string is straight, measure where the string crosses the floor. That is the length of the wall. Measure the width of the wall by placing the string at one end of the wall and stretching the string to the opposite end, again using the chalk line to measure the string.

The most obvious, and generally the least effective, is to simply drill a hole with a regular drill bit, then unscrew the screw, and drill a hole in the material. The best way to ensure the holes line up is to clamp the object you’re drilling into in a vise and then drill the pilot holes with a drill press or drill that’s.

Lay the first piece of wallpaper flat on the table, and place a piece of wax paper over the back of the paper. You’re ready to start applying the adhesive to the wall.
